Open Question: My finance is really arrogant...to marry or not to marry?
We have been together for 23 months. We moved in together at about 4 months and got engaged at 11 months.
For the last 6 months or so, I've noticed that my finace has been arrogant. He thinks he's always right and that things should always be done his way. Whenever I voice my opinion or tell him what I think/want, it's wrong and he thinks he always has a better solution. For example: We were at a reptile store and I would point out animals I liked and he would be like 'We're not getting it for this reason or that" for every one I pointed out! But we can get the ones he likes even though I dont want them. It's driving me crazy and wondering if he's the man I should marry. Our wedding is in 5 months.
He's also a slob. I'm constantly cleaing up his dishes and trash. He works all day, comes home, plays video games and goes to bed. And I work all day, come home and clean. On my weekend, I clean, do laundry and do the shopping. On his days off, he doesn't want to do chores because it's his day off. It really pisses me off. I've tried just not cleaning up his messes, but he just ignores it until there are bugs in the apt or the cats eat the old food of his dishes and get sick.
Is it a rough patch? Is this a sign we're not meant to be together? Whenever I try to talk to him or point out that he's being a dick, he just clamms up and won't talk and just ignores me.
I have a history of severe depression and self injury and the last few months, I've been thinking about it a lot.
