Voting Question: Boycott American Products?
Would any of you be willing to boycott American products, brands or services?
By the way, just a little detail - only 3% of US GDP consists of exports and the largest export is IP (the biggest segment is Hollywood movies, music and video games). There are a lot of US brands, but they are not made in the US. The only thing that may be American about them is the bulk of their shareholders.
Why hold on to false notions of freedom and democracy. The US is becoming a police state that is beginning to bully its own people as much as those it exploits elsewhere in the world.
When a new US president is being elected the whole world pays attention even though it is only Americans who can vote. But everyone can vote. People from all nations around the world can vote with their hard earned money. If you have had enough of the US stop buying any American products, brands or services. This will have a strong effect. The US government will have no choice but to pay attention. This is certainly a better option than violence.
All America and its government understands if money. Hit them where it hurts - their pocket book.
I have to believe at least some of you in Yahoo Land will get this, even if many of you are Americans (unless of course you believe your government is benevolent).
And, I am not talking about boycotting small American businesses. I mean US multinationals.

Open Question: Women can bond shamelessly. Is it possible for men to do so as well?
Exhibit A.) Women have make-up.Not to say that they wear it all the time. Or even regularly, but I'd say 95% of women in America have at one time or another worn make-up and they can bond over that if all else fails.
Exhibit B.) All women periods. It is just a bodily function(the only equivalent I could think of for guys is something like a boner,in which they would be criticized about, because that means in some way they're being a pervert. Whereas women with periods don't have to do any explaining as to why they have periods, they just happen. Which is actually the same way it is for boners and guys. Men can't help if they have hormones that make them perverted! But women get commercials for all these pads and tampons and they get to feel special for their bodies natural functioning(I'm not saying it's pleasant either. But boners aren't always pleasant and there are no commercials or products for hiding embarrasing boners!
Exhibit C.) Fashion(not just Vogue and super models and crap). Goth chicks dress in a certain fashion, so do emo girls, scene girls, any girl who has a handbag or cute-accessory is also included.
Exhibit D.) Male stereotypes. "Hey it's guy's night out! Let's go to a :
A. Strip Club
B. Cubs Game
C. WWF wrestling match, Nascar and/or Monster Truck show
D. Video Game Arcade
E. Pub
FAIL. These are all wrong. These are all socially conditioned norms. It is possible that a man could be bored by all of those activities listed above. And if he is to admit to the hormonal side he is suddenly a chauvinistic pig. Is there anything every guy has in common? No. What is male bonding? A LIE. Not all guys like football, video games, wrestling, strip clubs, nascar, beer, barbeques and drinking. Not all guys are perverts and not all guys like to drink.So convince me that "girls night out" is not a cruel way of boasting that women have more stuff in common than men!
I can't tell you how many awkward situations I've been in because of this! I assume that I have something in common with my fellow man simply because he is a man. But I couldn't have been more horribly mistaken.
