Open Question: Essay application for ALT position with Interac in Japan?

Has anyone applied to work with Interac before in Japan and if so, what do you think of this essay in response to the question: "Why are you applying for this position?"

'From a young age I have had an intense interest in Japanese culture that has had a powerful influence on my upbringing. From the rich, vibrant history of the nation to it's breathtaking natural beauty and it's famously unique pop culture, manga and video games, I have always felt a strong kinship with the people of Japan. Throughout my academic life in Ireland I have also come to place education and cultural awareness on a pedestal as key ingredients in a happy and fulfilled life full of enjoyment and learning. The value that has been added to my life through my opportunities to go college and travel to other countries in Europe and North America has dramatically transformed my world view. Until this year, I was not sure if I would ever have an opportunity to visit Japan, but following the significant personal growth I have experienced over the past several years I feel that I finally have strong motives to make the journey. By combining my love of education with my love of Japanese culture, this position offers me the opportunity of a lifetime to broaden my horizons and gain invaluable experience and life skills while submerging myself in a very different culture and learning more about the Japanese way of life.'

When I'm doing applications like this I usually like to try and make my reasons for applying sound extremely personal, as I believe this can be more persuasive than listing all of the future potential career opportunities provided by the job. Also, in this case I'm telling the truth. I want to go mainly because I love Japan, not because of my career. Am I wrong in this approach? Thanks.
Whoops, I left out a big chunk of the essay. Here's the lot of it:

Open Question: In a now politically correct world- should all portrayals of violence (Video games, movies, comics) be banned?

THere should be adversity to demonstrate the human spirit but should it be shown in competitive sport and life-enhancing challenges? Killing and blood-spilling is such an ugly side of human behaviour and should be outlawed from a caring, all-inclusive society.

Resolved Question: A few questions relating to me and this girl (WARNING - it's long)?

I'm not really sure how to start this question, but here goes. There's this girl who goes to my philosophy class. The moment I first saw her walk into the classroom, I felt my heart sink in my chest. I swear, you would have to see her. She's beautiful. She has long, thick hair. Whenever I see her hazel eyes, I can actually feel my cheeks getting warm. I've searched the internet for a picture of somebody that resembles her, and this is the closest I could find (sans the headscarf, the girl in my class looks similar except she doesn't wear as much eye makeup and her hair is completely natural looking):

It's gets even worse. She usually wears a regular T-shirt, jeans, and boots or flats, but sometimes she comes dressed up for no apparent reason. And when I say "dressed up", I don't mean wearing some eccentric style or just throwing on a skirt with flats, I mean actually dressed up: dress/skirt, black stiletto heels, skin-coloured pantyhose (for real; I first noticed when we sat beside each other and she had a run on the side of her leg), sometimes she wears a blouse. I gave her a compliment one time and asked her what the occasion is; she's like, "There isn't any, I just felt like dressing up today." And this is the kind of dress she'd wear:

So anyways, I began talking to her on a fairly regular basis. I learned a number of things about her. First, she's a hard core gamer. She likes the Zelda series, Persona, Final Fantasy, the Mario series, and a number of others. I was actually kind of surprised, she never struck me as the type to play video games. Second thing I learned is that she has a lot of the same interests as I do. She follows the news, she enjoys watching all sorts of movies (same tastes as me), she spends a lot of time reading things on the internet. But then I learned the most shocking thing of all - one time the lecturer asked a question, "show of hands, who here speaks another language at home?" I noticed that she raised her hand. She has an English name, and at the time I didn't know her last name. So after class I asked her, "you speak another language at home?" She nodded and went "Mhm", and I was like, "what do you speak?" She's like, "Arabic." I was like, "Arabic? Really? But you don't look Arab." She's like, "Haha yeah I know, people are always surprised when I tell them that my parents are from the Middle East." Then I asked her, "which country?" Her response: "Iraq." As if it couldn't get any worse, she had to be Middle Eastern. Her family has to be from a region I'm very interested in. The worst part of it is, I would never have guessed if she hadn't told me. She does have a bit of an aquiline nose, but that's the only Arab physical trait about her. She has a very fair complexion, not unlike people of European descent. It blows my mind to think that she's from Iraq; I asked her which part her parents are from, and she's like, "It's a city in the northern part of the country called Mosul." I was like, "haha it's OK, you don't have to tell me where that is. I know a lot about Iraq and the Middle East, I read about it a lot in my spare time." She's like, "Oh, cool! What do you find so interesting about it?" And yeah, we had a conversation along those lines.

OK, so here are my questions:

1) Is it normal for Iraqi girls to literally look European? Because she does not look Arab at all, and I was floored when I learned her ethnicity.

2) Do you think I should try asking her out? I mean we're pretty well acquainted, but I'm not sure if she likes me that way.

3) Do I sound creepy writing all these things?
