Open Question: Ideas on how to spend my sixteenth birthday?
Hello.
Before it's suggested, I do not intend to have a birthday party. My last four birthdays have been sleepover weekends, and very boring, horror movie filled ones at that. This year I'd like to do something fun with a few of my close friends. My close family lives a few hours away from me, and the family that does live near me I'm not particularly fond of, so spending time with them isn't much of an option. My birthday is also on March 3rd, which lies on a Sunday this year. I can't do anything that would keep me or my friends from not attending school that Monday, and the Saturday before my birthday I have a fundraiser to deal with, so the only day for me to really do anything will be on my birthday. That also poses a problem, because church might get in the way of some of my friends attending any sort of function I plan.
I'd really rather not stay at home, or spend the day with my father. My original idea was to go out to Birmingham and find an art exhibit or historical event that my friends and I might enjoy (because I'm very fond of both art and history), but I've checked the calendar and there isn't anything that would be of complete interest to everyone. I'm the type of person that walks around the city and discovers little holes in the wall, but I can't come up with a single thing that would be something I can enjoy with my friends.
I also don't have a lot of money to spend, if any at all, so I'm at a loss. I wanted to try to include a picnic at the park or something to the likeness, weather permitting.
Does anyone have any suggestions???
My friends and I are very into things such as video games, anime, comic books, science fiction, horror, and etc. And I'm also very much into, as I've already said, history and art, along with antiques and vintage. My friends and I are all young musicians as well.
