Open Question: Should I become a video game developer?
Before anything I'd like to give a little background on my situation.
I am 16 years old and I live in Bolivia (a country in the middle of South America in case you don't already know). I've won a couple math, robotics, animation (crappy 2d animations when I was 11 years old) in my state and I was moved one year ahead by my school for my grades, understanding, bla bla bla. I started to get a little into programming when I was 12 and I've learned some C++, C#, Actionscript. I've been a gamer since I was 5/6 and it is something I really love. A couple of months ago I've gotten into 3D modelling, some UDK, ZBrush, etc.
The thing is that I want to become a video game developer but I've heard people that get into the industry and are not the bosses around get treated like s***. Also I've heard that it doesn't pay much and that studying specifically for video game developing at college is extremely expensive. I would like to know if it is really worth studying this and what would be the best way to go.
