Incredible, Obama's same-sex marriage tweet close to 50,000 RTs in 7 hours

Earlier today President Barack Obama made a huge move when he publicly endorsed same-sex marriage, and his announcement on Twitter is close to passing 50,000 retweets.

Open Question: Why has every friend I'd had grown bored of me?

I'm 17 years old, lived in a rural area for most of my life, homeschooled, very little social contact and none whatsoever with other people my age. I got the internet when I was 15, and have been cultured in that manor.

The problem I've got is that all of the friends I've made over the internet have all grown bored of me. And while they don't verbally say I'm a chore to talk to, I can tell that they've got other things they'd rather be doing. I'm sitting here, wondering why and how it keeps happening. Here's how it always goes down.

>Meet person (Usually female) over an online video game or chatsite.
>Get to know that person really well, chat it up for hours on end
>Have a heart to heart discussion.
>Feel as though I know the person very well, and they do me.
>Continue talking to them, being very nice and attentive over a few weeks
>Slowly that person becomes more and more unresponsive, I remain consistent.
>After about two months, that person gives me a response every 1-5 minutes, sometimes more without acknowledged it.
>Start talking to them less because I feel as though they don't want to talk to me.
>That friend is still just as unresponsive as ever when I do talk to him/her.
>Finally give up after three months and stop talking to that person completely
>They never try to initiate a conversation with me again.

This wouldn't bother me if it hadn't happened to me over five times. The same way. Every time. Right now I have only one friend, but that friend doesn't like to connect on a more deep level if you know what I mean.

About me?
I can be a bit obsessive at times, yes, but I'm a kindhearted person. Can be quite goofy at times, but am really serious when it matters. My interests range widely from music, news, philosophy, occupations, education, video games, and books. I'm always a good listener, attentive and thoughtful. And I do genuinely care for those who I once considered my closest friends. Oftentimes, moreso than they do me. I'm a VERY mellow person too. Very little makes me mad.

The things that come to mind that may be wrong with me is that I can be immature at times, but never when it comes to a serious matters, I do sober up. I've never been inspired to do anything, nor have I been able to do anything. I have no talents like singing or being able to play an instrument, doing exceptional feats. All I've got is my mind. I'm quite pale, skinny, and lack much muscle. And I don't look my age. I still look 15, in my eyes.

I'm just tired of being stuck in this cycle. How can I get out of it? What am I doing wrong? I don't mind harsh words-- I just want to stop messing up with every one of my relationships.
