Open Question: Vista locks up/freezes randomly?
I defragmented my Dell Inspiron 1545 about a week ago.
Everything seemed fine until about two days ago.
While on Youtube, my screen froze up. I can move the mouse, but the browser didn't respond. When I clicked on the start menu, it popped up and froze up as well. CTRL + ALT + DEL didn't even bring up the screen for Task Manager.
At first I thought it was just Youtube making my computer crash, but it happened when I tried to watch one of the videos in the Yahoo News. And again when I try to load games on my computer.
I haven't downloaded anything for a while, so what could be the problem?
I don't think a disk defragment could corrupt anything, could it?
c: Thank you. I'm going to defrag/scan in safe mode before updating.
Hopefully one or both of these will be the solution.
