Open Question: How do I stop hating people just because they're better than me at stuff?
I have a major problem at hating (or simply disliking) a person whenever they're able to do something better than I can. It doesn't matter what it is. Drawing, math, singing, thinking complicating computer software is easy, getting girlfriends easy, doing video game reviews, having bigger collections than I do, and the list goes on. Heck, I don't even like a person if they have physical attributes that are better than me. Such as being taller. I have major issues with people who are taller than me.
My disgust towards people for these reasons are even more extreme if they're kids. Because I feel that I should be more intelligent in every way than a kid. Gosh, I can't even stand my own nephew because he had girlfriends sooner than I did, graduated high school and I didn't, makes more money than me etc. I even have an attitude towards him because he's into things I hate, such as football.
Could this be stemed from my childhood? Could somehing have happened to me while growing up that made me this way? Like, lack of friends, no girlfriends, no support etc.? Actually, I'm against having friends. I don't trust ANYBODY. Because I feel that everybody is only after making their own selves happy.
I HATE being this way. I don't like hating people for their achievements. I should be proud of a person for their accomplishments and just be happy with what I have and who I am. I get so angry, SO often that I'm always in a bad mood when I talk to my girlfriend. She's always having to cheer me up.
