Open Question: How do I choose a desktop computer?

I want to buy a desktop computer but i'm not sure what to get. I understand how ram and such works, but when you get into the specs of video cards and thing like that i'm lost. I found a brand called cyber power and read some good reviews on them. I just have no clue what to buy when I go on their web site. They have dozens of computers and then you can customize them. So I guess what I'm asking is for help choosing a good computer. I'm looking to spend 1200$. I play games like League of Legends, Runescape, The Old Republic, and I'm going to play guild wars 2 when it come out. Also, I already have a monitor so I don't want any combo deals offering monitors. Recommendations and insight will be greatly appreciated!
How can you say that I don;t know anything about computer by the price I want to pay? You clearly have no idea how the cost can range is desktop computers depending on what you want to use it for. Also, I was going to have a local PC shop build me one, but I heard that they are buggy sometimes because some parts don't necessarily work well with others. Realistically I know I could order the parts and build it myself, but I just want to buy a computer that will have the best chance of working properly (also with warranty). Also I'm lazy and don't trust myself to build a computer
